OLIVER SWEENEY Oliver Sweeney shoes combine the creative energy of great British design with the consummate flair of Italian manufacturing prowess. In 1989, after twenty years perfecting his craft in the bespoke world, Oliver Sweeney created his legendary Anatomical Last. A last is the wooden form on which a shoe is made and Sweeney knew that a brilliant last was the key to bringing the benefits of a custom-made shoe to a wider market. Unlike other lasts, the Oliver Sweeney Anatomical Last is sculpted to give support to the arch of the foot and features a gentle twist through the length simulating the natural shape of the foot. Supported like this, the foot remains in great shape and what's more, by preserving the arch of your foot, this will help to keep your back in good shape. Around this last, Sweeney wraps the very finest leathers, perfectly stitched to his unique sole units by the finest shoemakers in Italy. The discomfort you may have felt when you 'break-in' a new pair of shoes is unlikely to trouble you in a pair of Sweeney's shoes.
